Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Relief Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate veterinary team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality animal care and support veterinary professionals on Mondays from 8am - 6pm, ensuring every pet receives exceptional treatment and comfort. Your expertise in animal handling and veterinary anesthetic procedures will help create a positive experience for clients and their beloved pets. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your skills make a real difference in animal health and well-being. Exotic experience a plus but not required. Duties Assist with veterinary examinations, diagnostics, and treatments, including laboratory work, radiology diagnostics, and critical care procedures Perform animal restraint, handling, and husbandry to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures Administer medications, vaccines, and fluids via IV insertion or other routes with precision and aseptic technique Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures, including general anesthesia and veterinary anesthesia monitoring Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, laboratory analyzers, and diagnostic tools to support accurate diagnostics Support surgical procedures by assisting with sterile techniques, animal catheterization, and veterinary surgical assistance Maintain detailed records using veterinary software; document procedures, medications administered, and patient progress Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs Experience Previous veterinary technician experience required. Hands-on experience with veterinary anesthesia required. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and emergency medicine protocols Proficiency in laboratory work such as phlebotomy and diagnostic radiology techniques required Demonstrated ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques for dogs and other species Familiarity with veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment scheduling Join our team as a Relief Licensed Veterinary Technician to bring your passion for animal health into a lively environment where every day presents new opportunities to make a difference.
