Your Impact:
Nursing Excellence & Leadership As a Technician II, you will handle complex cases with minimal oversight while beginning to supervise and mentor staff to ensure smooth, efficient operations.
Your Daily Responsibilities:
Advanced Surgery & Anesthesia:
Perform induction, intubation, and all pre-anesthetic patient prep. Independently monitor general anesthesia under the direction of a veterinarian, maintaining surgical suites and ensuring all high-tech monitoring equipment is in optimal condition.
Comprehensive Dentistry:
Clean, scale, and polish teeth, take full-mouth dental radiographs for each patient, and assist veterinarians with oral extractions. Take before-and-after dental photos to share with eager pet parents!
High-Tech Lab Diagnostics:
Collect specimens and perform routine laboratory procedures in hematology, biochemistry, chemistry, and urinalysis to report directly to veterinarians. Master accurate prescription filling using our safety-focused two-signature protocol.
Compassionate Client Education:
Act as a primary bridge for our local families, educating clients on preventative healthcare (vaccines, flea/heartworm products), managing surgery admissions/discharges, and performing professional callbacks.
Hospital Flow & Mentorship:
Proactively manage the "Back of House" workflow to ensure appointments stay on schedule. Provide mentorship to support staff and offer a hand whenever a colleague is busy. Who You Are You have 2-5 years of experience in a high-volume clinical or surgical setting. An Associate or Bachelor's degree in veterinary technology from an AVMA-accredited program is preferred, and CVT, LVT, or RVT status is highly preferred. You possess a mastery of IV catheter placement, dental nerve blocks, and a deep understanding of pharmacology/dosage calculations. You possess the ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in fast-paced or emotionally taxing environments without compromising your performance or team attitude. You are skilled at using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions or approaches to clinical problems. Physical & Safety Requirements Ability to lift 50 lbs and remain mobile for 10-hour shifts. High tolerance for a fast-paced medical environment. Strict compliance with all safety standards regarding X-ray radiation and waste anesthetic gas scavenger systems.
