At Rustebakke Veterinary Service, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care to pets and their owners. We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, adaptability, and a passion for working with a diverse range of animal species in both clinical and field settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures. Perform routine and emergency medical procedures including administering medications, collecting samples, and monitoring anesthesia. Provide compassionate care and education to pet owners regarding treatment plans, preventive care, and general pet health. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper handling and storage of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. Conduct laboratory tests, take radiographs, and assist in various diagnostic procedures. Handle and restrain animals safely and effectively.
Qualifications:
Certification or Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology (preferred) or equivalent experience. 1+ years experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting strongly preferred. Prior experience with equine and livestock is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, procedures, and equipment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on client education. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
