When you dreamed of becoming a veterinary technician, this is the type of environment you were looking for! Our senior staff is available and eager to help train you to your fullest potential and our leadership team is always on site to assist with mentoring and problem solving. As you grow in the field we are here to help you develop your skills and continue in the lifelong pursuit of veterinary education. Several of our technicians have formal training to perform abdominal ultrasounds and echocardiograms, while others have been able to make advances in our dental prophylaxis procedures through advanced knowledge. If you are a certified veterinary technician, licensed in either WI or another state, we encourage you to join our team in enhancing the human-pet bond through superior service. Working alongside a collaborative, detail oriented and quality-focused team, you will get to:- Provide care to a wide range of animals, including but not limited to: hobby farm animals such as goats and chickens to exotic animals such as koi, axolotls, sugar gliders, and macaws.
- Work with local exotic sanctuaries to support the medical needs of animals in their care
- Review vaccination records, prepare vaccines, and administer vaccines according to the protocol of Gentle Vet Animal Hospital
- Advise and educate animal owners about medical conditions and treatment, as well as associated costs, by providing a treatment plan/estimate
- Receive formal training for, and utilize Low Stress Handling techniques for all species
- Work in a new, state of the art facility that opened in 2024. Maintain and use medical equipment such as ultrasound and digital radiographs (brand new equipment, purchased in 2024 and 2025). Enjoy a cloud-based Practice Management System.
- Assist with compassionate end-of-life discussions providing empathy and support to clients throughout the euthanasia process of patients when medically and/or ethically necessary
- Manage anesthesia for surgical cases, including but not limited to entropion repair, amputations, exploratory surgery, growth removals, splenectomy, spay/neuter, tooth extractions, and much more!
- Perform dental prophylaxis, using digital portable x-ray unit, ultrasonic cleaner and polisher
- Manage laboratory samples, performing in clinic testing or sending to external labs
- In clinic tests include microscopic examination of bodily tissues, blood, urine and feces
- Working with all team members to accommodate clients and patients needs, even in an emergency situation (performing CPR, based off current RECOVER guidelines) Understanding our
