Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician, where your passion for animal care and medical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this vital role, you will assist veterinarians in providing exceptional medical services, ensuring that every animal receives compassionate, comprehensive care. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a positive, efficient environment dedicated to animal health and well-being. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during treatments and procedures Conduct laboratory work including blood draws, sample collection, and processing for diagnostic testing Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, radiology diagnostics tools, and anesthesia monitors with precision and care Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments following veterinary instructions while monitoring animal responses Support critical & intensive care units by monitoring animals under anesthesia or in emergency situations, ensuring proper vital sign assessment Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and performing dental cleaning, polishing, and related tasks Skills Extensive kennel experience coupled with animal husbandry knowledge to ensure optimal pet care before and after procedures Proficiency in veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy to accurately interpret veterinarian instructions Skilled in veterinary anesthesia monitoring, IV insertion, vascular access, and animal catheterization techniques Experience with veterinary surgical assistance including aseptic technique and handling of surgical instruments Familiarity with veterinary software for record keeping, appointment scheduling, and diagnostic data entry Strong dog handling skills along with pet grooming knowledge to support overall pet wellness programs Ability to perform radiology diagnostics such as X-ray imaging with attention to detail for accurate results Knowledge of emergency medicine protocols to respond swiftly during veterinary emergency care situations Capable of performing phlebotomy efficiently while maintaining patient comfort during blood draws or other laboratory work Excellent client communication skills to explain procedures clearly and provide pet care guidance confidently This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your veterinary technician experience within a supportive team dedicated to advancing animal health.
