Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician with a focus on surgery, where your skill and dedication will make a tangible difference in the recovery and comfort of every patient. In this vital role, you will work closely with our surgeons on a range of procedures, from routine soft tissue surgeries to orthopedic cases as they arise, building advanced skills in anesthesia and surgical assisting along the way. Your attention to detail and calm, steady approach will help ensure the highest standard of care in a fast paced surgical environment. We are an independently owned practice (not corporate) that's growing fast, and we're looking to build a capable leadership team to take us to the next level. Duties Prepare patients for surgery, including pre-surgical workups, bloodwork, and patient positioning Induce, monitor, and manage anesthesia throughout surgical procedures, adjusting as needed based on vitals Assist surgeons directly during procedures, including orthopedic surgeries such as fracture repairs, TPLO/TTA, luxating patella corrections, and joint procedures as they come up Set up and maintain sterile surgical fields, instruments, and equipment Take and process pre and post op radiographs to support surgical planning and evaluate outcomes Monitor patients through recovery, managing pain protocols and watching for post surgical complications Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment Educate clients on post operative and rehabilitation care, including activity restriction, bandage/splint care, and physical therapy exercises Maintain detailed surgical and anesthesia records Order and manage inventory of surgical supplies Cross train and assist with front desk/reception duties as needed, including scheduling, client check in/check out, and phone coverage during busy periods Experience Certified/Registered/Licensed Veterinary Technician (CVT/RVT/LVT) preferred; strong surgical experience will also be considered Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assisting required Interest in orthopedic procedures a plus, or willingness to learn Strong attention to detail, especially regarding sterile technique and patient safety Willingness to cross train in reception duties as needed Growth Opportunities Mentorship and hands-on training in surgical techniques, including exposure to orthopedic cases Potential path toward specialty certification (e.g., Veterinary Technician Specialist in Surgery) Possible leadership opportunities, including a path to Surgical Lead Technician or Team Lead for the right candidate Room to grow alongside a fast growing, independently owned practice Join us to be part of a passionate team committed to animal health and welfare! Pay:
$21.00 - $26.00 per hour
