Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Certified Veterinary Technician, where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and their owners. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, high-quality care to a diverse range of patients, assist veterinarians with medical procedures, and ensure the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. This paid position offers an opportunity to apply your veterinary skills in a fast-paced, supportive setting dedicated to animal health and well-being. Pay is dependent on experience. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and care Perform animal restraint and handling using proper techniques to ensure safety for pets and staff Conduct laboratory work including blood draws, urinalysis, and other diagnostic tests using veterinary laboratory equipment Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety through vigilant veterinary anesthesia monitoring Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately following veterinary protocols Operate diagnostic radiology equipment such as X-ray machines and interpret radiology diagnostics under supervision Maintain aseptic technique during surgical procedures and sample collection to prevent infection. Manage veterinary software for record keeping, scheduling, and client communication efficiently Assist with emergency medicine cases, providing critical care support in high-pressure situations Perform venipuncture (phlebotomy), IV insertion, vascular access, and animal catheterization with skillful precision Support pet owners through clear communication about pet care instructions and treatment plans Experience Candidates are required to have gone to an accredited veterinary technology college and either received their certification through the state of Wyoming, or are working on obtaining it. Candidates should possess proven veterinary technician experience with a strong foundation in animal husbandry and emergency medicine. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and general anesthesia is essential. Experience working with laboratory diagnostics such as radiology diagnostics or veterinary laboratory work is highly valued. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in medical equipment operation, IV insertion, animal restraint techniques, and veterinary surgical assistance. Equine and bovine knowledge (or willingness to learn) is required as we are a mixed animal practice. Strong communication skills for client interaction are required to ensure pet owners feel informed and supported throughout their pet's treatment journey. This role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about their career in veterinary medicine while delivering exceptional pet care, and working well with a team. We are seeking someone who will mesh really well with our current small team.
