This role blends in-home and showroom consultations with structured desk time and proactive relationship-building. Success comes from listening deeply, aligning solutions thoughtfully, and delivering projects that create lasting client and referral relationships. How Time Is Balanced This role intentionally blends three focus areas: Outside Sales (Client-Facing) In-home consultations, showroom meetings, measurements, and design discussions. Inside Desk Time (Execution & Alignment) Proposal preparation, specifications, order accuracy, follow-ups, and coordination with operations. Business Development (Growth & Relationships) Proactive outreach and relationship cultivation with designers, builders, realtors, and past clients to generate new opportunities. Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs) Client Consultation & Sales Conduct in-home and showroom consultations to understand lifestyle, aesthetic, budget, and functional needs Guide clients through custom window treatment solutions including blinds, shades, shutters, drapery, and motorization Build trust through education, clarity, and design confidence Sales Conversion & Revenue Growth Prepare accurate proposals and confidently guide clients to a buying decision Close sales while protecting margin and communicating long-term value Meet or exceed individual sales and performance targets Business Development & Pipeline Growth Actively cultivate relationships with designers, builders, architects, realtors, and trade partners Maintain consistent touchpoints with past clients to encourage repeat and referral business Represent A Shade Smarter at networking events, showrooms, and community opportunities Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities Inside Sales Execution & Desk Responsibilities Prepare quotes, review specifications, and confirm measurements Enter orders accurately and coordinate handoff to operations Manage revisions, follow-ups, and active pipeline stages Maintain organized client records and consultation notes Project Coordination & Follow-Through Communicate timelines and expectations clearly Proactively address questions or issues before they escalate Partner with installers, coordinators, and leadership to ensure smooth delivery Relationship Management & Brand Stewardship Deliver a high-touch, professional client experience Represent A Shade Smarter with warmth, integrity, and design leadership Collaborate across the team to support shared goals and standards What Winning in This Role Looks Like Listening Clients and partners feel understood and valued Clear consultation notes with minimal revisions Aligning Strong consultation-to-close conversion Business development efforts translate into qualified opportunities Delivering Accurate orders and smooth installations Repeat clients, trade loyalty, and organic referrals Qualifications & Experience Proven success in consultative, relationship-driven sales Comfortable balancing outside sales, desk execution, and business development Strong organization, communication, and follow-through skills Design sensibility and eagerness to learn product expertise Ability to manage multiple projects and relationships simultaneously Why This Role Matters This role fuels both today's sales and tomorrow's growth .
