Mechanical / Electrical Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling and testing precision mechanical and electrical products by following detailed work instructions, blueprints, and schematics. You will work in a clean, organized, and quiet assembly area, using a variety of hand and power tools to build assemblies to strict quality and production standards. Responsibilities Receive machined parts and review work instructions, drawings, or schematics to determine required components and assembly steps. Pick and organize all necessary parts and materials needed to complete each assembly according to work instructions. Assemble mechanical and electrical components using hand and power tools such as wrenches, torque wrenches, screwdrivers, and drills. Follow detailed work instructions and visual guides, including pictures of finished products, to ensure assemblies are built correctly. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings to perform more complex assemblies when visual guides are not available. Connect assemblies to a test bench after training and perform final testing to verify that products meet production and quality standards. Identify and report any defects, assembly issues, or test failures, and assist in troubleshooting basic mechanical or electrical problems. Work with pneumatic, hydraulic, and manifold components as required by specific assemblies. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe individual work cell, ensuring tools and parts are stored properly and work area remains tidy. Follow all work instructions, quality procedures, and safety guidelines throughout the assembly and testing process. Collaborate with the assembly lead and other team members to meet production goals and support continuous improvement in the assembly process. Essential Skills Recent, hands-on assembly experience in a mechanical or electromechanical environment. Proficiency using hand tools such as wrenches, torque wrenches, and screwdrivers for assembly work. Experience using basic power tools, including drills, for mechanical assembly tasks. Ability to read and work from blueprints, schematics, and drawings to complete assemblies accurately. Experience following detailed work instructions to perform repetitive and precise assembly steps. Basic understanding of mechanical assembly principles and practices. Ability to perform electrical assembly tasks as directed, following schematics and work instructions. Capability to learn and follow testing procedures on a test bench to validate finished assemblies. Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting quality and production standards. Ability to keep a work area clean, organized, and safe throughout the shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with electrical assembly, including wiring and component installation, is a plus. Familiarity with reading and interpreting electrical schematics is highly beneficial. Exposure to pneumatics and pneumatic components in an assembly setting. Experience working with hydraulic systems or hydraulic manifolds in a production or assembly environment. Comfort working from visual aids such as photos and diagrams of finished products. Ability to follow work instructions with minimal supervision once trained. Strong organizational skills to manage parts, tools, and documentation within an individual work cell. Willingness to learn new assembly processes, tools, and test procedures as needed. Why Work Here? You will join a team that values organization, quality, and a calm, focused work atmosphere. The assembly area is designed for comfort and efficiency, with each person having their own dedicated cell, tools, and parts, allowing you to take ownership of your work. The schedule offers a standard weekday shift with some flexibility on start and end times once you are fully trained, supporting a healthy work-life balance. You will receive training on test procedures and assembly processes, giving you the opportunity to develop and expand your mechanical and electrical assembly skills in a supportive environment. Work Environment This position is based in a very clean, well-organized, and quiet assembly department that is separate from the machine shop and tailored specifically to assembly processes. The team consists of six assembly cells with two other individuals working in the department, including a lead, and each assembler has their own individual cell with dedicated parts and tools. Standard hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; after training and once working independently, there is some flexibility in start and end times as long as an 8-hour shift is completed. The role involves regular use of hand tools such as wrenches, torque wrenches, and screwdrivers, as well as power tools like drills, while working from work instructions, blueprints, and schematics.
