Job Description

Job Overview Shared Health Services is seeking a Hyperbaric Technician to support our hospital-based hyperbaric program at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN . In this hands-on clinical role, you will coordinate and administer daily hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) treatments, screen wound care patients for appropriate referrals, and ensure high-quality care and safety. The ideal candidate is a licensed EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or RRT with strong communication, critical thinking, and reliability. Key Responsibilities Coordinate Daily Treatments:
Organize and oversee daily hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions, including patient preparation, chamber operation, and post-treatment care, while maintaining strict safety protocols.
Patient Monitoring & Care:
Monitor patients during hyperbaric treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.
Wound Care Integration:
Evaluate and screen wound care patients for HBOT eligibility. Work closely with wound care nurses and providers to incorporate hyperbaric therapy into patient care plans when appropriate.
Safety & Equipment Management:
Perform daily chamber safety checks and adhere to all regulatory guidelines and promptly address any technical issues.
Documentation:
Maintain proper documentation of each treatment and patient interaction (treatment logs, patient progress notes, etc.). Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and on time, meeting company and regulatory standards.
Team Collaboration:
Communicate any patient concerns or program needs to the clinic management or company leadership promptly.
Continuous Improvement:
Uphold a culture of excellence by identifying opportunities to improve patient outcomes. Assist with training new team members in hyperbaric procedures and foster an environment of safety, trust, and teamwork . Qualifications & Skills Active Healthcare License (Required): Current EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or RRT license in Tennessee (or compact state licensure valid in TN/VA). Applicants without a current healthcare license will not be considered.
Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required . (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is a plus.)
Clinical Experience:
At least 1 year of clinical patient care experience preferred (e.g. emergency medical services, nursing, respiratory therapy). Prior hyperbaric or wound care experience is a bonus but not required - we will provide specialized training.
Communication & Teamwork:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to educate patients and caregivers. Communicate effectively with providers and wound care team members.
Problem-Solving:
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues calmly (whether patient-related or technical) and make sound decisions under pressure. Attention to

High attention to detail with regard to following treatment protocols, observing patients, and documenting information.
Professionalism & Reliability:
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic . A track record of consistent attendance and responsible behavior in previous roles is essential. (This position requires someone who will show up on time every day and take ownership of their duties.)
Safety Focus:
Commitment to safety standards and a willingness to strictly adhere to all hyperbaric safety protocols and checklists for every treatment.
Adaptability:
Comfortable working independently to manage the hyperbaric program, while also knowing when to seek guidance or assistance.

Benefits & Schedule Competitive Pay:
$18.50 - $25.00 per hour (commensurate with experience and licensure).
