Job Description

Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a IH Technician, Senior (3838) in Piketon, OH. Navarro Research & Engineering is an award-winning federal contractor dedicated to partnering with clients to advance clean energy and deliver effective solutions for complex challenges in the nuclear and environmental fields. Under general supervision, the IH Technician, Senior performs Industrial Hygiene job functions to support site operations. This position assists IH Leads and supervision to ensure monitoring, controls, and hazard mitigation activities comply with contractual requirements, safety policies, DOE Orders, and federal, state, and local regulations. This role supports implementation of controls for chemical, biological, and physical hazards but does not involve directing work activities or exercising discretionary authority. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Participate in monitoring health standards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations Evaluate and interpret regulatory requirements and assist in site compliance efforts Perform assigned tasks following established policies, procedures, and detailed instructions Ensure required controls to mitigate identified hazards are implemented and maintained Provide industrial hygiene, environmental, and hazardous material support to site personnel Assist in processing complex industrial hygiene analyses using multiple methodologies and laboratory instruments Maintain data within approved data capture and tracking systems Assist in preparing reports, charts, and spreadsheets for IH activities Provide administrative and functional support to the Industrial Hygiene team Perform duties ranging from routine to moderately complex Maintain knowledge of and comply with all safety policies and applicable regulations Actively participate in Safety Work Groups Perform other job-related duties as assigned Requirements Minimum Requirements High School diploma or GED with two (2) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Typical experience range: 2-5 years Active DOE security clearance, or ability to obtain Radiological training, or ability to obtain Intermediate personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications Basic understanding of federal and state regulations, site policies, and project requirements Intermediate interpersonal and communication skills Working Conditions Work performed in an environmental restoration setting, including outdated or abandoned facilities Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals, solvents, radioactive materials, and moving equipment when safety procedures are not followed Ability to wear respirators and required personal protective equipment Ability to carry instruments, tools, and equipment while walking extensively Prolonged standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, kneeling, crouching, and reaching required Ability to perform medium to very heavy physical work, including lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally (buddy system required for loads exceeding 45 pounds) Ability to work in confined spaces, tanks, heat stress environments, radiation areas, and high-noise environments Outdoor work in all weather conditions, including temperature extremes May be required to operate company vehicles in accordance with DOT and safety regulations Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
