is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and global movement mobilizing leaders and institutions to advance responsible AI. Its global community includes more than 7,000 members across 60+ countries, 200+ mentors, 100+ subject matter experts, and a growing network of startups, investors, enterprises, and ecosystem partners. The AI 2030 Accelerator - FinTech Track supports emerging AI companies serving banks, credit unions, insurers, payments companies, asset managers, and the broader financial ecosystem. The program is designed to help companies become buyer-ready, investor-ready, and responsible-AI-ready. The Opportunity AI 2030 is seeking experienced volunteer mentors to work directly with founders participating in our FinTech Accelerator. Mentors will bring practical industry experience, candid feedback, strategic guidance, and connections to help startups navigate one of the most complex markets for AI adoption. Financial institutions expect technology providers to address not only product performance, but also model risk, fair lending, consumer protection, operational resilience, governance, auditability, and procurement requirements. This is a hands-on mentorship opportunity for executives, entrepreneurs, investors, technologists, risk leaders, regulators, and subject matter experts who want to help shape the next generation of responsible AI companies in financial services. What Mentors Will Do Depending on expertise and availability, mentors may: Provide 1:1 or small-group mentoring to selected accelerator startups. Help founders validate product-market fit against the actual needs of banks, insurers, payments companies, asset managers, and other financial institutions. Review startup positioning, business models, pricing, go-to-market strategies, partnerships, and enterprise sales approaches. Help founders understand financial-services procurement, vendor management, compliance, security, risk, and governance expectations. Advise startups on building credible pilot programs, business cases, ROI models, and enterprise adoption plans. Support founders in developing fundraising strategies and strengthening investor pitches. Review responsible AI practices, including governance, privacy, security, fairness, explainability, auditability, human oversight, and data governance. Participate in office hours, workshops, founder discussions, pitch reviews, or accelerator events. Make relevant introductions to customers, investors, partners, or other experts when appropriate. lessons learned from personal experience, including successes, failures, and practical challenges that founders are likely to encounter. The accelerator progresses through four areas: market fit and growth barriers, reverse pitches, go-to-market strategy and execution, and scaling with capital, with responsible AI embedded throughout the program. Mentor Expertise We Are Seeking We welcome mentors with deep experience in one or more of the following areas: Financial Services & FinTech Banking, payments, insurance, wealth management, asset management, capital markets, lending, credit unions, treasury, embedded finance, or financial infrastructure. AI & Technology Generative AI, agentic AI, AI engineering, data infrastructure, cybersecurity, AI evaluation, model monitoring, enterprise architecture, cloud infrastructure, and AI-native product development. Risk, Compliance & Responsible AI Model risk management, AI governance, financial crime, AML, KYC/KYB, fraud, identity, fair lending, privacy, cybersecurity, third-party risk, regulatory compliance, consumer protection, explainability, and operational resilience. Go-to-Market & Enterprise Adoption Enterprise sales, partnerships, product strategy, procurement, vendor management, customer success, pricing, commercialization, pilot design, and scaling within regulated industries. Investment & Startup Growth Venture capital, corporate venture capital, fundraising, startup strategy, business-model development, investor readiness, due diligence, and scaling. The FinTech Track is particularly focused on agentic financial services and operations, financial crime and identity, agentic payments, credit and underwriting, regulatory intelligence and AI governance, wealth and capital markets, AI-native financial infrastructure, and inclusive financial products. Who We Are Looking For Ideal mentors may be: Senior executives or experienced practitioners from financial institutions, FinTech companies, technology companies, consulting firms, regulatory organizations, or professional services firms. Founders or operators who have successfully built and scaled technology companies. Investors with experience evaluating FinTech, enterprise AI, or regulated technology companies. AI, governance, risk, compliance, legal, security, or technology experts. Professionals who understand how large organizations actually evaluate, procure, deploy, and govern emerging technology. You do not need expertise across every area. We are looking for mentors who can bring meaningful depth in at least one domain and are willing to share that expertise with founders. Time Commitment We designed the mentor role to accommodate senior professionals. Typical participation is approximately 3-5 hours per month and may include a combination of: 1:1 founder mentoring Monthly mentor or office-hour sessions Startup pitch reviews Workshops or expert sessions Introductions or follow-up conversations Mentors may choose a level of involvement that aligns with their expertise and availability. Join a global mentor network that currently includes more than 200 mentors and 100+ subject experts. Our Mentorship Philosophy We are not looking for mentors who simply give founders generic advice. We are looking for practitioners who will challenge assumptions, open doors, share real-world lessons, and help founders translate innovation into products that financial institutions can actually buy, deploy, govern, and scale responsibly. The goal is to help the next generation of FinTech companies build not only better AI, but trusted businesses capable of operating in a highly regulated financial system.
