  • Any member of the Indiana Army Nional Guard, AGR, and M-Day Soldiers Duties Help Performs limited diagnosis, routine repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty mobile equipment, comb, tactical and automotive vehicles.
Performs limited diagnoses to determine the cause of mechanical failures by means of visual and auditory checks and/or uses basic test equipment such as compression testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters and pressure gauges. Removes, replaces, adjusts, cleans and installs parts and components such as wheel seals, switches, sensors, fuel pumps, wer pumps, power steering pumps, brakes, filters, radiors, bearings, springs, shock absorbers, etc. Independently performs routine repairs and maintenance functions in remote locions th can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts of components and systems using standard parts. Conducts limited readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and associed equipment supported by the activity. May perform routine maintenance and limited repairs on basic communicion equipment such as radios, field telephones, amplifiers, switchboards, recorders, intercoms by removing and replacing components and elements. In conjunction with or in the absence of the Tools and Parts Attendant, may maintain supply documention, and the receipt, store, issue, and inventory of tools and parts used in the trades operion. Ability to establish effective professional working relionships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperive working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. Irregular and/or overtime compensory hours may be required to support operional requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An approprie, valid driver's license may be required for the position. GENERAL EXPERIENCE
: Experience or training which demonstres knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventive maintenance tasks, and is able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work.
AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Experience or Training using common hand and power tools and a small variety of test and measurement devices to make mechanical repairs. Experience removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing a variety of parts, components, and accessories. Experience which demonstres a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to vehicles; and skill to replace, fit, install, and make adjustments. Experience demonstring an understanding of the makeup and operion of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelionships. Experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schemics. Specialized Experience Requirements for NGB Federal Wage System Positions for claiming civilian job experience: Creditable experience must have been performed least 30 consecutive days and be properly documented. Experience in the same line of work can only be credited on the basis of a regular 40-hour workweek. Hours per week MUST be documented on resume to receive any credit.
