Create complete fabrication plans and documentation that guide production and support accurate delivery of finished products to customers.

Work concurrently on 56 projects at different stages of completion, effectively prioritizing tasks and maintaining organized project documentation.

Collaborate closely with internal design teams, team leads, checkers, and other detailers to review drawings, resolve issues, and maintain quality standards.

Coordinate with customers and fabrication plants throughout the design approval process, answering questions and addressing concerns to move projects toward approval.

Participate in quality checks and respond constructively to feedback on drawings, making revisions to improve accuracy and consistency.

Meet project deadlines and performance metrics related to accuracy, quality, and timeliness of drawings and documentation.

Engage in ongoing training by reworking completed projects to learn detailing standards, project management processes, and internal tools.

Gradually transition from handling single projects to managing multiple projects simultaneously as proficiency and self-sufficiency increase.

Contribute to a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge and supporting peers, and, where applicable, providing informal leadership or training assistance. Essential Skills

Hands-on AutoCAD 2D drafting experience in a related industry such as construction, building design, or structural detailing.

Strong understanding of structural loads and connections, with the ability to review and interpret decking design drawings and connection details.

Familiarity with design approval processes and the ability to work effectively with clients or fabrication plants to move projects through approval.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at once, with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Flexible, adaptable mindset with the ability to adjust quickly to changing day-to-day tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Comfort with working to defined metrics and results, including accountability for accuracy, quality, and timeliness of drawings.

Goal-oriented and deadline-driven approach, with a strong focus on meeting project schedules and delivering on commitments.

Ability to give and receive feedback constructively and to incorporate feedback into improved drawings and processes.

Strong collaboration and communication skills for working closely with team leads, checkers, and other detailers. Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with joist and/or deck design, particularly structural steel deck design, is a strong plus.

Any prior experience working with large structural steel fabrication organizations or similar environments is beneficial.

Experience in leadership, mentoring, or training within a drafting or detailing team is an advantage.

Interest in long-term career growth, including potential mobility to other groups within a large organization.

Willingness to learn and use proprietary AutoCAD 2D add-ins and internal project management tools.
