Job Description

Incumbent Paint & Body Tech Capitol Heights, MD Apply Now Paint & Body Technician must have the ability to determine which specific parts or pieces of a bus and vehicle that may need repairing or replacing. Must have the ability to provide estimates on repairs made as well as ability to estimate the time required for restorations. Minimum of 5 days per year
Paid Sick Leave:
40 hours yearly full-time employees; medical, dental & vision after 90 calendar days of employment for full-time employees, life insurance, 401k retirement benefits, and company holidays.
Responsibilities:
Performs damaged sheet metal and body repairs. Removes, replaces, or repairs body parts using hand and power tools. Removes, installs, adjusts, and aligns body components. May repair locks, latches, and other accessory body parts. May perform glass and upholstery repairs. Documents all repair and maintenance actions on Work Orders, including parts and materials used, time expended, and pertinent comments. Ensures the accuracy and completeness of all documentation entries prior to release of the vehicle. Ensures vehicle security and safety while in shop. Adheres to all Government rules and Shop safety practices relating to operation of shop tools, use of personal safety services, housekeeping, and health. Follows all environmental practices regarding proper handling and disposal of all waste streams. Communicates and adheres to Injury and Prevention (IP) standards Maintain and manage inventory of supplies, tools and equipment. Manage day to day operations of the body shop ensuring efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. 3+ years paint and collision experience preferred Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to work flexible hours in a garage setting. Attention to detail. Must be able to complete body work or light frame work tasks such as dents, frame straightening, etc. Must be able to operate tools/equipment used in maintenance of vehicles (e.g., hammer, sanders, welding equipment, torches, paint guns, etc.). Fully understand safety measures and expectations when handling tools/equipment. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records. Must be computer literate. ASE certifications and/or willing to obtain. Pre-Employment Requirements Must submit to drug testing and a background check. Must be able to pass a DOT physical examination.
