POSITION SUMMARY
The Industrial Maintenance Technician at the Fulfillment Center is required to perform the essential functions listed below. Repairs and Preventative Maintenance are associated with those essential functions which include various pieces of machinery/equipment: Conveyors, Electrical Systems, Pneumatic Tools, Hydraulic Equipment, and Motors. Must have the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot various issues within said equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION
No. Description 1. Ensure correct and safe operation of equipment and machinery using a computerized maintenance management system. 2. Troubleshoot and maintain motors, conveyors, electrical systems, pneumatic tools, and hydraulic equipment. 3. Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing metrics. 4. Source replacement parts and perform repairs. 5. Work with facility manager to continually update the production process and system capabilities. 6. Attend daily shift meetings to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime. 7. Safely operate power tools and hand tools. 8. Assess the condition of used parts using micrometers, calipers, and specifications. 9. Maintain parts and tools inventory. 10. Prepare maintenance reports and summary presentations using daily activity logs, analysis, and trends. 11. Maintain electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical knowledge via on-going training, machine manuals, and technical reading. 12. Regular and predictable attendance. 13. Other duties as assigned by Management.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance/equipment experience required
  • Capability of operating hand, power, and specialized tools
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management work order system
  • Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and pneumatic equipment
  • Experience working with various computer systems with ease
PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • Advanced technical or college training preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS
(TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.)
  • Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions in written or verbal form including operating and maintenance instructions, work instructions, written policies and procedures, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence effectively and accurately. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and employees of the company.
  • Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate. Requires strong mathematical skills using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Must be able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and not so practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Technical Skills
  • The individual must have a working knowledge of the following: (1) equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
This also supports the role of teacher and trainer (2) cost issues in order to make daily decisions that will reduce overall costs and will help the supervisor find areas that require improvement, (3) budget development, adherence, and analysis, (4) quality standards, and (5) regulatory requirements including but not limited to environmental and waste minimization, company policies, and personnel requirements including OSHA, DEQ, and EEO.

  • must possess the following: superior time management skills including the ability to manage multiple issues concurrently and the ability to lead an effective and efficient meeting, superior communication and teaching skills in order to function effectively as a teacher for his/her personnel, excellent crisis manager who demonstrates that he/she has a high emotional control under adverse conditions and can lead his/her personnel to a successful resolution, professional appearance, and demonstrated confidence including providing a consistent leadership style with an acceptable level of professional assertiveness.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand 100% of the shift.
  • Walk 60% of the shift.
  • Must twist and/or use upper body for 60% of the shift.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 or more pounds frequently dependent upon the need and the job/project to be completed.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, feel and reach, handle, with hands and arms during the entire shift.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly the ability to talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job in the plant, the employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the plant work environment is sometimes loud.
