Industrial Electrical Field Service Technician

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Industrial Electrical Field Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment You will be a technical lead for our fleet of boring machines and directional drills. This is a high-impact role involving deep-dive diagnostics and field-response repairs. Responsibilities Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems on Barbco equipment. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.

CAN Bus Diagnostics:

Expertly troubleshoot J1939 protocols on heavy machinery.

HDD System Support:

Repair, calibrate, and optimize specialized drilling electronics.

Preventative Maintenance:

Inspect 12V/24V DC systems and high-voltage AC units.

Field Rapid-Response:

Travel to active job sites to minimize critical drill downtime

Skills Technical Literacy:

Expert at reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Resilience:

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to operate field service equipment such as ammeters, ohmmeters, low voltage testers, and high voltage safety gear. Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing complex electrical or mechanical issues quickly and accurately. Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly in English.

Bonus Skills:

Proficiency in hydraulic systems is highly valued.

Experience:

3+ years as an industrial or heavy equipment electrician. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in diagnostic and repair of industrial heavy duty machines who thrive in hands-on environments.
