Summary Come join our Engineering team in Georgetown, DE for Summer 2026! Our Engineering Internship offers students hands-on, real-world experience within the company over an 10 - 12 week period. Come experience an inside look in the world of plant operations. What can you expect from a Perdue summer internship? Overtime may be available. Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities Conduct research and develop scope for a high-impact engineering project Analyze cost estimates and propose viable solutions to improve business operations Present findings and recommendations to leadership Assist project managers with active and developing projects Learn and apply project management methodologies used at Perdue Help track timelines, budgets, and deliverables Support operations, maintenance, and operational technologies teams Participate in troubleshooting and process improvement initiatives Organize engineering and project files across multiple locations Maintain version control and ensure accessibility of key documents Create and refine presentations for internal stakeholders Communicate technical concepts in a clear, engaging format Minimum Education Must be enrolled in an accredited four-year institution pursuing a bachelor's degree. Degree in an Engineering capacity 3.0 GPA or higher Experience Requirements Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work well within a team setting, as well as independently. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate in a team atmosphere. Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements Able to move freely throughout the agribusiness facilities including climbing vertical heights (0 -150'), carrying tools and equipment (0-50 lbs.), exposure temperatures (0-100) degrees Fahrenheit, humidity (0-100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available). Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus.
