Industrial Painter

Industrial painter role responsible for surface preparation, spray application, coating operations, and paint inventory support in a manufacturing environment. Job Requirements One-year certificate from a college or technical school preferred, or related experience and training 1 year of experience operating industrial paint equipment 2 to 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment Ability to read and interpret a tape measure Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime Ability to pass a drug test Preferred Skills Experience applying paint, epoxy, or polyurethane with conventional or airless sprayers Experience mixing coating materials to achieve required colors and finishes Experience masking parts and surfaces for coating processes Experience cleaning and preparing metal surfaces for painting Experience using powered wire wheels or wire brushes for rust removal Experience performing inventory counts for paint and supply materials Experience moving parts with forklifts or working with materials staged for coating Job Responsibilities Spray paint surfaces of machines, manufactured products, or work areas with protective or decorative coatings Attach slings to pipes or other parts for movement into position or onto stands for painting Clean grease and dirt from products before coating Apply masking tape to areas that are not to be coated Select and mix coating liquids to produce the required color Pour coating material into spray containers and connect spray guns to air hoses Adjust sprayer valves and nozzles to regulate spray width and pressure Apply primer and finish coats using conventional or airless sprayers Coat inaccessible areas with a brush as needed Clean spraying equipment and brushes with solvent Remove rust from metal surfaces using powered wire wheels or wire brushes Perform weekly inventory counts on paint and supply materials

Pay:
