Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Infant and Toddler Room Teacher to join our daycare center team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants, supporting their developmental milestones through engaging activities and attentive caregiving. This role requires a strong understanding of childhood development and experience working with young children in a classroom or caregiving setting. The Infant and Toddler Room Teacher will collaborate with parents and team members to promote positive growth and learning experiences for our youngest learners. Duties Create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment tailored to infants' needs. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Monitor and document each infant's growth, milestones, and individual needs. Provide attentive caregiving including feeding, diapering, soothing, and comfort. Maintain accurate records of daily routines and developmental progress. Communicate regularly with parents about their child's day, progress, and any concerns. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including first aid procedures. Collaborate with colleagues to maintain an organized classroom environment and support team goals. Assist in maintaining classroom management strategies that foster positive behavior and social skills. To close the classroom each day and ensure each child goes home with the correct information and the room is ready for the next day. This position also works as a back up director for days that one of the directors is out. Requirements Prior experience working with infants in a childcare or classroom setting is preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable; willingness to obtain certification if not already certified. Experience with special education or working with children with disabilities is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members. Ability to manage classroom behavior with patience and professionalism. Passion for nurturing young children's growth and fostering a positive learning environment. Relevant background in childcare, preschool experience, or nannying is advantageous. Must have 64 college credits with 21 in early childhood including 3 in early childhood administration.
