Infection Control and Wound Care Nurse

Piatt County Nursing Home, a 100-bed skilled nursing facility in Monticello, IL, is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-orientedInfection Control Nurse (LPN or RN) to join our team. This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing and plays a vital role in protecting the health and safety of our residents, staff, and visitors by leading our infection prevention and control efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and direct the facility-wide infection control program to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and mitigate risks. Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention goals and objectives. Complete infection control rounds, audits, and surveillance throughout all facility departments. Ensure appropriate interventions and staff education occur when infection trends, outbreaks, or non-compliance are identified. Provide ongoing infection prevention education and counseling to staff, volunteers, residents, and families. Oversee and maintain

COVID-19

testing, reporting, and tracking for residents and staff. Manage new hire infection prevention training, required immunizations, and immunization tracking. Maintain logs, reports, and participate in national collaboratives and external reporting requirements. Keep current with federal, state, and local infection control regulations, ensuring facility compliance. Participate in on-call rotations, including assisting as a floor nurse when needed. Qualifications:

LicensedLPN or RN in the state of Illinois. Completion of Infection Preventionist Certification (or willingness to complete within 30 days of hire). Strong knowledge of infection control, OSHA, and safety regulations. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Why Join Our Team?
