INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST

information. The primary purpose of this position is: To plan, develop and administer the Information Security and Industrial Security Programs within the Wing Information Protection Office. Implements Information, Industrial Security and Foreign Disclosure programs for the installation and unique serviced population in support of DAF's air, space and cyber warfare operations mission. Responsibilities Serves as Information Security program manager executing/enforcing all operational, functional, and mission assurance aspects of the program. Oversees and administers the Industrial Security Program. Responsible for providing assistance to Personnel Security Program Manager, as well as the IP Chief, to ensure Information Protection assigned programs are fully converged from a policy and programmatic viewpoint to meet mission requirements. Provides security guidance, training, and direction to a civilian, military and contractor work force at wing organizations and serves as their wing representative for all related Information and Industrial Security issues. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, independently analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems; apply policy direction to contractors and government/military officials, and develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various levels or degrees of security controls.FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE
(TIG)REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE
(GS)POSITIONS
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.NOTE:
