JOB SUMMARY
The Information Support Technician provides high-level Tier Two (2) support for district data systems, software applications, and information management processes. This position serves as a technical resource for schools and departments, resolving complex software-based inquiries escalated from the Helpdesk. The Technician works closely with the Information Support Coordinator to maintain data integrity, assist with state reporting, and provide advanced user support for the District's student information systems and integrated applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Essential duties of this position include the following: Resolve complex technical inquiries and software-related service requests escalated from the Helpdesk (Tier 1). Integrate and maintain third-party data systems and applications with the district's primary student information system to ensure seamless data flow and functionality. Maintain and manage user access to Student Information Systems, including configuring security rights and roles. Provide tracking and technical support for ODE-required reports, ensuring data accuracy for submissions such as staff assignment, class schedule, CTE, and 9th grade on track. Assist users with the development of custom reports and data extracts for building-level needs such as enrollment, attendance, and discipline reports. Support the rollout and maintenance of the Student Information System platform and other district-wide software applications. Troubleshoot software-based integration issues and data interfaces between the student information system and third-party applications. Liaise with software vendors and help desks to resolve programming and high-level support issues. Analyze system data to identify and resolve data integrity issues before they impact district or state reporting. Conduct user training and develop documentation to assist staff in navigating complex data systems. Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
All school employees have some responsibility for supervising students and assisting in maintaining a safe environment. This position does not supervise other employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. High School Diploma with an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field, or possess industry recognized computer/software development certification. Prior job-related experience in an information system or data management-related field. Possess current knowledge of information systems principles, procedures, and practices. High-level proficiency in data management systems and enterprise application software. Ability to serve as the "next tier" of support, troubleshooting complex issues escalated by the Helpdesk. Maintain strict confidentiality of staff and student records (FERPA/HIPAA compliance). Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; read, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and policies. Possess an instructional level of knowledge of current Microsoft and Apple operating systems, compatible applications, and hosting hardware. Ability to be flexible and accommodating to changing situations and processes. Adhere to safety practices and work within time constraints; providing a high level of customer service at all times and maintaining a positive image on behalf of the District. Ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities and respond to unexpected changes. Valid driver's license and proof of insurance. The hourly pay range for this position for the 2025/26 school year is $24.24 to $27.55/hour; range will increase to $25.21 to $28.65/hour on July 1, 2026. This is a year-round position.
