Essential Elements:
Print Provides an education program for pupils in grades K-8, or a combination thereof utilizing the goals and objectives approved by the District. Creates a flexible program and a classroom environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establishes effective rapport with pupils; motivates pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further education, in accordance with each pupil's ability; establishes good professional relationships with parents and with other staff members. 1. Teaches in applicable instructional areas in accordance with District policy. 2. Guides pupils in citizenship and in social responsibilities. 3. Develops material and techniques needed for instruction, in accordance with pupil needs. 4. Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth and communicates with parents through a varity of means. 5. Holds parent conferences when needed to discuss the individual pupil's progress and interpret the school program. 6. Cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve problems which may interfere with the learning process. Addressing the needs of the most marginalized learners requires recognition of the inherent value of diversity and acknowledgement that educational excellence requires a commitment to equity in the opportunities provided to students and the resulting outcomes.
