Inside Counter Sales

Counter Sales Associate Reidsville Building Supply is seeking a dependable, customer-focused Counter Sales Associate to join our team. This position is responsible for assisting contractors, homeowners, and builders with material sales, order entry, pricing, customer service, and daily support inside the store and sales counter area. The ideal candidate is organized, communicates well, works efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and has knowledge of building materials, hardware, lumber, or construction products. Key Responsibilities Assist walk-in and phone customers with product selection and sales Prepare customer quotes and sales orders accurately Process invoices, payments, and account charges Coordinate with yard staff and dispatch on order fulfillment and deliveries Answer customer questions regarding materials, pricing, availability, and lead times Maintain organized sales counter and showroom areas Follow up on open quotes and customer inquiries Build strong relationships with contractors and repeat customers Assist with inventory checks, stock replenishment, and merchandising Handle special orders with vendors and suppliers Work closely with outside sales and management teams Support daily store operations as needed Preferred Qualifications Previous lumberyard, hardware, construction supply, or contractor sales experience preferred Knowledge of lumber, framing materials, windows, doors, roofing, siding, or hardware products is a plus Strong customer service and communication skills Basic computer skills and ability to learn sales/order systems Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure Team-oriented attitude with strong work ethic Ability to read material lists and construction terminology preferred High school diploma or equivalent Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Occasional lifting of products or samples up to 50 lbs Ability to move throughout showroom, office, and yard areas Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Opportunities for advancement Paid holidays and vacation Employee discounts Health benefits available Stable, long-term employment with growing company

Schedule Full-time Monday-Friday Pay:

$18.00 - $26.00 per hour
