Job Description

We are looking for a full time installer to add to our team in Sacramento. This position is responsible for the hands‑on installation, setup, and finishing of towing and recovery equipment on new truck chassis. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established installation standards. Installers work closely with a Lead Installer and shop management to ensure every build meets quality and performance expectations. Key Responsibilities Equipment Installation
  • Install towing and recovery bodies, wheel‑lifts, winches, hydraulic systems, and related components.
  • Mount and align bodies, subframes, and structural components
  • Perform hydraulic plumbing, including hoses, fittings, valves, and reservoirs
  • Set up PTOs, pumps, and driveline components according to manufacturer specifications
  • Complete electrical wiring for lights, controls, PTO switches, and auxiliary systems Fabrication & Mechanical Work
  • Drill, cut, grind, and fit steel and aluminum components
  • Perform minor welding
  • Install toolboxes, lighting, safety equipment, and accessories
  • Modify or fabricate brackets, mounts, and hardware as needed Quality Control & Documentation
  • Follow build sheets, diagrams, and manufacturer instructions
  • Perform self‑checks throughout the build to ensure accuracy
  • Assist with final QC inspections and functional testing
  • Document work performed and communicate any issues or delays Shop & Team Support
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Assist apprentices and support team members when needed
  • Communicate clearly with the Lead Installer and management about job status
  • Follow all safety procedures and shop policies Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on experience with tools
  • Ability to read diagrams, schematics, and installation instructions
  • Experience with automotive, truck, equipment, or hydraulic systems
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physical shop environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience installing truck bodies, van equipment, or vehicle modifications
  • Welding or fabrication experience
  • Automotive electrical experience
  • Prior work in a truck upfitting, fabrication, or equipment‑installation environment Work Environment
  • Full‑time, hands‑on
  • Shop environment with a focus on quality, safety, and craftsmanship
  • Monday to Friday schedule with occasional overtime
Pay:
$21.00 - $26.00 per hour
