Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Are you passionate about making a difference in students' lives as a Paraprofessional? Multiple contract opportunities are available for the 2026-2027 school year across Carbon and Lehigh Counties. These roles offer an engaging, supportive environment within a diverse range of classrooms, providing crucial support to both educators and students. Positions will begin August 10, 2026, with limited Opening Day hours and regular schedules resuming later in August according to each assignment.
Key Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience as a paraprofessional in a school or special education setting Must reside within 35 minutes of either Lehigh County or Carbon County Ability to work school day schedules between 7:00 AM-3:30 PM (depending on assignment) Must satisfy one of the Pennsylvania state paraprofessional requirements: Minimum 48 college credits OR Associate degree or higher OR Successful completion of a state/local assessment (or attain certification within 60 days of hire) Demonstrated reliability and commitment to punctuality Willingness to engage with a variety of student behaviors, provide physical support (e.g., lifting or toileting), and maintain a responsive attitude during the school day
Role Responsibilities:
Collaborate with certified staff to support daily instructional and care routines Foster student engagement, independence, and social-emotional growth Support individualized education plans and classroom management strategies Adapt daily to the needs of the students and classrooms assigned Ensure timely arrival, adaptability, and a professional demeanor
