Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting middle school students by providing essential assistance in both academic and behavioral areas. As a paraprofessional with CNA credentials, you'll play a vital part in a specialized Emotional Regulation Impairment (ERI) program located near Bayonne, NJ. This contract opportunity extends from ASAP through June 19, 2026, with consistent onsite hours—full time at 30-31 hours per week.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Previous work in school settings, preferably with middle school-aged students Background supporting individuals with emotional or behavioral challenges Ability to deliver both instructional and behavioral support alongside teaching professionals Excellent communication, patience, and collaboration skills Ability to start promptly and work through the duration of the academic calendar
Role Responsibilities:
Provide focused one-on-one support for students demonstrating maladaptive behaviors Assist classroom teachers with daily activities and help implement instructional strategies Collaborate with teaching assistants to maintain a structured, supportive learning environment Contribute to the success of the Emotional Regulation Impairment (ERI) program by addressing students' social-emotional needs Help foster positive interactions and reinforce academic engagements for assigned students Maintain clear, professional communications with staff, students, and administrative teams to ensure continuity of care and instruction This position offers the unique chance to make a difference in students' lives while strengthening your skills in both educational and therapeutic support settings.
