Job Description
The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation features an expansive coalition of schools that allow our children to develop a sense of purpose and value, receive a higher quality education, join a welcoming community and feel secure in a a dynamic future. We have a rich history, with its establishment 200 years ago by St. Rose Phillppine Duchesne. A coalition of schools serving over 50,000 students (PreK-12) within an 11-county area. Job Summary The Instructional Aide supports teachers in providing effective instruction and a positive, faith-filled learning environment for students. The aide assists with academic support, classroom management, preparation of instructional materials, and supervision of students while promoting the mission and values of Catholic education.
Job Responsibilities Assist teachers with classroom instruction and daily educational activities Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce lessons and learning objectives Support students with assignments, reading, math, technology, and other instructional tasks Help prepare instructional materials, classroom displays, and learning resources Maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming classroom environment Assist with classroom management and reinforce behavioral expectations consistent with school policies and Catholic values Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, arrival/dismissal, and other assigned duties Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the teacher Assist with clerical tasks including copying, filing, grading preparation, and attendance records Support students' social, emotional, and spiritual growth Participate in school activities, liturgies, and events as assigned Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and school information Support and uphold the mission and philosophy of Catholic education Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or college coursework preferred Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and families Basic computer and instructional technology skills Dependable, organized, and flexible Successful completion of background check and Safe Environment training The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
