Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young adults in an educational setting dedicated to fostering independence and real-world skills. This position involves working within the Adult Transition Program, serving students aged 18 to 26. Your commitment will directly impact learners as they build life and vocational skills, both inside the classroom and throughout the community. This role is based near Dearborn, MI and follows regular daytime hours, running from 7:45 AM to 2:45 or 3:00 PM, giving you the chance to maintain a balanced schedule while making a meaningful difference.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Experience as a Paraprofessional, ideally in a school or special education program Passion for assisting young adults with diverse abilities and backgrounds Flexibility and adaptability to support students at various locations, including community settings and job sites Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with staff and students Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Key Responsibilities:
Provide attentive support and encouragement during classroom activities and community outings Assist students as they develop daily living, job, and social skills Follow individualized education plans (IEPs) and program guidelines Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to create a supportive learning environment Help students navigate both academic and life skills challenges at school, job sites, and during community excursions This contract position offers the satisfaction of seeing the tangible progress your guidance brings to students preparing for adulthood.
