Job Description

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a positive difference each day in a supportive, student-focused environment! This full-time contract opportunity runs through June 2026, with immediate start, working onsite in a school-based setting. As an Orthopedic Impairment Instructional Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting the OI Specialist by assisting with mobility needs, equipment usage, and accommodations, ensuring students can safely and confidently navigate the school environment.
Key Qualifications:
Experience supporting students with orthopedic impairments in school settings CPI Certification Training in assistive technology and mobility devices CNA/Medical background a plus Prior work in California schools helpful Bilingual Spanish skills are highly valued Strong communication abilities and a collaborative spirit
Primary Responsibilities:
Closely monitor and assist students using walkers, wheelchairs, and other mobility equipment Support the OI Specialist with daily routines, equipment use, and student safety Provide guidance and training on assistive technology and mobility devices Adapt support strategies to meet individual student needs Maintain a safe and inclusive atmosphere for all students Travel to different schools within the district as an itinerant assistant
