Instructor (Tutor)

Mathnasium is a math-only learning center, that provides both remediation and enrichment instruction for students in grades 1-12 in a positive and encouraging environment. Our entire teaching philosophy revolves around teaching math in a way that makes sense to students. We find out where a student is in terms of their math abilities, and build them up from there. We help our students solve their own problems, not just tell them what to do. Mathnasium students receive one-on-one instruction in a small group setting and a customized learning plan based on their unique needs and goals. We focus on filling in the gaps in our students' mathematical foundations while providing them with the help, guidance, and encouragement necessary to tackle what is being taught in school. We offer rewarding part-time work in the Morgan Hill area with flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends). Applicants for the Instructor role should enjoy teaching math, and be able to motivate students to succeed.

Required Qualifications:

Exceptional math skills through Algebra I and Geometry Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills Ability to interact professionally with students/parents Enthusiastic and confident personality

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to teach students in upper-level high school math courses Previous teaching experience or other experience working with students Hours may vary, but typically include mid-afternoon through early evening hours (Monday - Thursday and Saturday/Sunday mornings).
