00 Hourly Apply Description Under the guidance of the Sport & Recreation Director, this position is primarily responsible for the planning, executing, and interacting with members and non-members during daily activities for various age groups throughout the Field House and/or outdoor fields. This position will lead the youth volleyball program and volleyball summer camps. The Sports and Recreation Instructor is to provide a safe environment for all participants and members while ensuring superior member service. The Sports & Recreation Instructor will also assist with volleyball class supervision, organization, communications and the execution of Sport & Recreation policies and procedures.

EXECUTION
The Sports and Recreation Instructor is to develop plan and execute activities and programs in the Sport & Recreation department. The Sport & Recreation Instructor is to be actively engaged and supervise children/participants, focusing on their safety, needs and enrichment. They are to provide positive member service and abide by all policies and rules of the South Shore
YMCA. STAFF ENGAGEMENT AND TEAMWORK
Work with fellow YMCA staff members and treat them with respect. Perform other tasks and /or duties deemed necessary by the Sport & Rec Director and/or Assistant Director. Monitor and communicate with supervisor all staff related issues and concerns. Attending all staff meetings, maintaining and update when required proper certifications.
MEMBER ENGAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT
Provide welcoming member service. Interact with members in a friendly, engaging and professional manner. Respond to inquiries and solve problems. Creates a supportive community environment, assists in recruiting and engaging new families, and connects families to the YMCA's cause. Educate members of all policies and procedures of the YMCA. Be familiar with all information and answer questions about programs, schedules, and policies of the Sport & Recreation department. Ensure that the South Shore YMCA Child Protection Policies are fulfilled.
FACILITY MANAGEMENT
Assist in providing an area that is clean, safe and well maintained. Ensure that all equipment is in good working order and communicate to management any deficiencies in quantity and or quality of all equipment.
VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT
Support volunteers and their daily functions.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT & SUPPORT
Assists in YMCA fund raising activities/events and engages in collaborative relationships with community organizations in order to strengthen support and build community.

Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age Experience working with children is preferred Knowledge/experience with volleyball Volleyball Certifications Preferred CPR/AED & First Aid Certifications The ability to develop positive, effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, members, community leaders and other agencies is critical to this position. Effective teaching skills, the ability to deliver excellent member service, and a high level of enthusiasm are required. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated poise and professionalism when addressing concerns and interacting with people.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, swim and talk and hear.
