• Posted on May 12, 2026 Published By Elizabeth Amaya Currently hiring I&C Technicians immediately in Childress, Texas! Looking for technicians with at least 2 years of prior experience. Candidates will be required to pass pre-employment screening including background check and drug screening. Day to day job duties may include the following:
• Performs a variety of instrumentation and automation services, troubleshooting, calibration, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoots instrumentation functionality and I/O operation.
• Terminating PLC signal cabling at PLC cabinets & field side (Instrumentation / VFDs / Electrical Equipment )
• Repair instrumentation, typically involving calibration using a variety of meters and tools.
• Sets up new instrumentation and calibrates to specifications using schematics and drawings.
• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance of test apparatus and peripheral equipment.
• Assists with a variety of related installation and maintenance projects for automating large industrial processes. I&C Technicians will be working 80-84 hour weeks, must be available for weekend shifts. Two week rotation of being off every other weekend. Pay rate is $38/hour, $178/day per diem. Days worked
• Must work 8 hour shift.

Requirements:

• 2 years experience as an instrumentation & controls technician
• Technical knowledge of the operation of AC and DC drives.
• A thorough understanding of speed feedback devices theory and operation.
• An understanding of temperature control and temperature components.
• CCST Certification & NCCER Certification beneficial.
• Texas Apprentice electrical license beneficial.
