Job Description

Intensive Outpatient Therapist - Substance Use Disorder Services Mountain Comprehensive Care Center is hiring an Intensive Outpatient Therapist to provide services to individuals experiencing difficulty with Substance Use Disorders. This position provides addiction-focused assessment, individual therapy, Intensive Outpatient Program services, group therapy, treatment planning, ASAM-informed level of care recommendations, care coordination, and clinical documentation. Position Overview The Intensive Outpatient Therapist provides direct clinical services to adolescents and adults with substance use concerns. This role supports clients through assessment, diagnosis, individualized treatment planning, individual counseling, IOP group services, referral coordination, and ongoing monitoring of treatment progress. This position requires strong clinical judgment, knowledge of substance use treatment, familiarity with ASAM criteria, timely documentation, and the ability to collaborate with community partners such as drug court, Department of Corrections, probation and parole, and other referral sources. Key Responsibilities The Intensive Outpatient Therapist will: Complete thorough psychosocial assessments for adolescent and adult clients. Form diagnostic impressions based on client history, presenting concerns, substance use patterns, risk factors, and functional impairment. Identify appropriate ASAM level of care and make treatment recommendations based on clinical need. Provide ongoing psychotherapy and Intensive Outpatient Program services to clients. Conduct individual counseling and IOP group services for clients with Substance Use Disorders. Identify appropriate treatment modalities and evidence-based interventions. Develop, implement, review, and update individualized treatment plans. Assist clients with transition, discharge planning, and termination of services based on current best practices. Complete and maintain prior authorization documentation to support service approval and continuation. Accurately document and maintain all records for services provided in accordance with MCCC program standards, agency policies, and state/federal guidelines. Provide counseling, referral, and resource information to clients and/or their families. Assist professional staff with planning, coordinating, and implementing treatment and development programs. Collaborate with MCCC staff, county team members, and community partners to provide comprehensive care. Maintain contact with referral and community partners, including drug court, Department of Corrections, probation and parole, and related agencies. Attend staff meetings, trainings, and conferences as required. Adhere to all standards for quality client care, including respect, continuity of care, professional ethics, supervision, and appropriate coverage during absences. Follow all MCCC policies and procedures. Complete other duties as assigned by the Clinic Coordinator and/or Program Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's in Humans Services Field. Must have a valid Kentucky motor vehicle operator's license. IOP experience preferred.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to evaluate needs of clients. Knowledge of overall objectives and treatment concepts of substance use. Knowledge of rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to the care and treatment mental/behavior disorders and SUD clients. Good verbal and written skills; patience and flexibility. Ability to maintain accurate records and reports. Ability to communicate with others in a professional manner. An eclectic knowledge base.
