Full-Time, permanent position Position SummaryThe Internal Medicine/Geriatric Medicine Physician provides high-quality, patient-centered care across all settings, including office, hospital, nursing facility, and home-based environments. This role emphasizes continuity of care, patient safety, and compassionate service in alignment with the mission of Hospital.

Key responsibilities include: Conducting comprehensive history and physical exams Performing age-appropriate and condition-specific screenings Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic illnesses Delivering preventive care and patient/family education Coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams Managing urgent medical issues and facilitating safe transfers to higher levels of care Providing clinical supervision and backup to advanced practice providers Participating in quality improvement initiatives and practice operations, including workflow optimization, panel management, and access improvement
QualificationsEducation & Certification:
Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Geriatric Medicine Credentialed to practice at MDI Hospital Active DEA registration BLS and ACLS certified
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years post-residency clinical practice preferred
Skills & Abilities:
Emotional maturity and excellent communication skills Ability to work with distressed or anxious patients/families Strong clinical judgment and ability to process complex information Ability to learn and integrate new techniques into practice Physical Demands Stand/walk up to 8 hours per day Bend, stoop, twist, and assist patients in and out of wheelchairs or exam tables Perform under stress in high-acuity situations
