Irrigation Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Irrigation Assistant to support daily water operations across our growing facilities. This role works closely with the Water Operations Manager to ensure irrigation systems run efficiently, schedules are executed accurately, and crop health standards are maintained. Weekend and holiday availability is required on a rotating basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with daily irrigation setup, scheduling, and monitoring (including weekends/holidays) Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain irrigation systems (valves, pumps, PVC repairs) Ensure irrigation programs start, run, and complete as scheduled Communicate daily with growers, spray crews, and water checkers Support pump checks, pond fill systems, and equipment maintenance Coordinate water usage around weather, spray schedules, and plant health needs Respond to irrigation issues and assist during emergency "no water" situations Support team training and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications:

Bilingual in English and Spanish (required) Basic knowledge of irrigation systems, water flow, and pipe sizing preferred Comfortable using computers and irrigation software (e.g., Site Pro) Strong communication and problem-solving skills Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and work independently Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in indoor/outdoor environments in varying conditions Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and respond to urgent needs

Work Environment:

This role involves working both indoors and outdoors in agricultural settings, with exposure to weather, equipment, noise, and agricultural materials.
