JOB SUMMARY
Collect, coordinate, organize, and assign freight movements according to customer requests with complete compliance to DOT regulations and company rules. This includes all aspects of Retail, Energy, and Ag tractor-trailer transport.REPORTS TO
Director, Transportation & DistributionRESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule drivers and assign routes to maximize efficiency, productivity, and customer service Communicate with tact, and in a way that motivates and inspires the driver team employees. Ensure efficient utilization of labor and equipment Proactively communicate with customers and sales departments to determine transportation needs Organize and prioritize loads depending on customer needs and resource availability Enter assignment data in the computer database and notify drivers of assigned work Prepares and submits documents and reports, including but not limited to federal and state road use tax and other compliance reporting within assigned areas of responsibility and within established timeline standards Archives DVIR, daily trip reports, and all other associated documents, in accordance with state and federal guidelines Register and license new fleet vehicles and maintain current registration on all Wilco fleet vehicles Enters new vehicle data in Webworks. Assigns unit numbers and provides a unit number label to the location. Maintain Webworks data to ensure accurate status and location of all Wilco assets Validates and approves vendor charges, and enters information into the DocuWare database within established timeline standards; promptly forwards invoices to the manager for final approval Work closely with the Transportation Director, Distribution Center, Energy, and transportation drivers Effectively communicate customer service and operational issues with the Transportation Director Documents actions by completing forms, documents, and reportsSPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing Skill in observing situations analytically and objectively, and relaying details accurately Working knowledge of tractor-trailer trucks and associated equipment Knowledge of Federal and State Laws (Oregon & Washington) pertaining to trucking and hazardous material distribution Proficient use of PC software to include WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK, or other databases, internet navigation, and research Excellent time management, organization, and workload prioritization skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to multitask Maintains positive behaviors, approaches, attitudes, and commitments to interpersonal service regarding customers, visitors, and coworkersEXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
High school graduate Truck fleet dispatching and/or driver supervision CDL is a plusPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit or stand in one place for extended periods of time Ability to grasp, clutch, pull, push, climb, bend, stretch, and kneel Ability to lift up to 50 poundsWORKING CONDITIONS
