Position Summary Ed Castro Landscape is seeking a skilled and dependable Irrigation Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial and residential irrigation systems while ensuring optimal system performance, water efficiency, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and experienced in both irrigation service and diagnostics. Responsibilities Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems including spray, rotor, drip, and smart irrigation systems Diagnose electrical and hydraulic issues involving valves, solenoids, decoders, wiring, and controllers Program, maintain, and troubleshoot irrigation controllers including Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro, and smart weather-based systems Read and interpret irrigation plans, blueprints, and as-built drawings Locate and identify system layouts, valves, zone controls, and underground wiring Ensure systems comply with local watering regulations, codes, and permit requirements Perform seasonal system startup, winterization, and routine maintenance services Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used, and labor hours through service reports or company software Communicate professionally with supervisors, clients, property managers, and HOA representatives regarding system performance and recommendations Safely operate trenchers, wire trackers, valve locators, and other irrigation and landscape equipment Support overall landscape operations as needed while maintaining high company standards for safety and quality Qualifications 2+ years of experience in irrigation installation, maintenance, and repair Strong understanding of irrigation diagnostics, hydraulics, and electrical troubleshooting Experience with smart irrigation technology and two-wire decoder systems such as Toro Sentinel and Hunter ACC2 preferred Familiarity with backflow preventers, flow sensors, pump start relays, and rain/freeze sensors Ability to read irrigation plans and technical diagrams Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license required Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Pay:

$20.12 - $30.26 per hour
