Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a qualified Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial and industrial sites. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive electrical experience, including working with high and low voltage systems, reading schematics and blueprints, and utilizing a broad range of hand and power tools. As a key contributor to our projects, you will ensure electrical installations meet all safety standards and regulatory codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC). Your expertise will support our commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality electrical solutions. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical layouts. Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment to diagnose electrical issues. Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems to support automation and control functions. Ensure all work complies with NEC standards and local electrical codes for safety and quality assurance. Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical installations with framing carpentry and other trades. Perform routine maintenance on existing electrical systems to prevent failures and improve efficiency. Assist in the training of apprentices or less experienced electricians when required. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for project records and inspections. Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe working environment on all construction sites. Qualifications Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification recognized by local authorities. Extensive experience working as an industrial or commercial electrician on construction sites. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to electrical systems. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), high voltage (HV), and low voltage (LV) wiring. Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills; ohmmeters; and other diagnostic equipment. Knowledge of NEC standards, schematics interpretation, and renovation project requirements. Ability to work effectively in physically demanding environments requiring frame carpentry or handyman skills. Strong understanding of construction processes including framing carpentry and schematic reading. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in troubleshooting complex electrical issues. Prior experience in construction site environments with a focus on safety compliance.
