Journeyman Electrician

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various facilities. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Operate and interpret programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to automate and control machinery processes. Conduct welding tasks as needed for electrical component fabrication or repair projects. Perform routine facilities maintenance tasks, including electrical system inspections and preventative upkeep. Read and interpret electrical schematics to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions. Use tools such as ohmmeters to test circuits, continuity, and resistance levels for safety and efficiency. Supervise junior team members or apprentices during complex installations or repairs, providing guidance and leadership. Maintain detailed records of work performed using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Support manufacturing operations by ensuring electrical systems are functioning optimally for production continuity. Assist with residential painting or other facility-related projects as needed to support overall site maintenance. Requirements Valid Journeyman Electrician license with proven experience in electrical installation and repair. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, schematics, and electrical codes. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and related automation equipment. Ability to perform welding tasks safely and effectively in various environments. Proficiency with testing tools such as ohmmeters for circuit diagnostics. Prior experience in facilities maintenance within manufacturing or industrial settings. Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and teamwork. Demonstrated leadership or supervising experience overseeing projects or teams. Mechanical knowledge that supports troubleshooting complex electrical/mechanical systems. Customer service mindset when interacting with internal teams or external contractors.
