Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards and electrical codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC). Duties Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in commercial and industrial settings. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of electrical systems. Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to identify issues and perform repairs efficiently. Work safely on construction sites by adhering to OSHA standards and local electrical codes while managing high voltage and low voltage systems. Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial automation processes. Assist with renovation projects by updating or replacing existing electrical infrastructure with precision. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and team members to complete projects on time while maintaining quality standards. Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to prevent failures and ensure ongoing compliance with NEC regulations. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including schematics updates and inspection reports. Skills Extensive experience working as an industrial or commercial electrician with a solid understanding of electrical systems. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for complex wiring layouts. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automation systems. Knowledge of low voltage wiring systems as well as high voltage applications for various projects. Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and saws; as well as diagnostic equipment like ohmmeters. Strong construction site experience with the ability to work safely at heights or in confined spaces when required. Familiarity with NEC standards for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations. Ability to perform frame carpentry tasks or handyman duties related to electrical work when necessary. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail for troubleshooting complex issues efficiently.
