Job Description
Journey Level Plumber - Residential Service Haight Carpet & Interiors | Puget Sound Region | Full-Time About the Role Haight Carpet & Interiors is a well-established floor covering and countertop company expanding into residential plumbing services. We're adding plumbing to directly support our core business — handling the fixture work that goes hand-in-hand with flooring and countertop installations — while also building a platform for broader plumbing service offerings as the division grows. We're looking for a WA-certified Journey Level Plumber (PL01) to be the foundation of that effort. This is a ground-floor opportunity to help build something new — you'll be a key player, not just a wrench in a machine. This is a high-mobility service route role. Most days you'll be running multiple residential jobs across a wide service area throughout the Puget Sound region — quick, clean R/R work, then on to the next. You're comfortable behind the wheel, good at managing your own schedule, and you don't need someone looking over your shoulder. You'll check in with the office for scheduling and coordination, but the road is your office. Because this is a brand new division, your first weeks on the job will be spent outfitting your service van and stocking it with the tools and supplies you need — on the clock, with a company-provided budget. You'll have real input into how the van is set up and what goes in it. We want it done right, and you're the expert. This is not a new construction or commercial role. If you're skilled at clean, efficient residential service work and want stability, a fully loaded company van, and a team that respects the trades, read on. What You'll Do Run a daily schedule of residential R/R jobs across the Puget Sound region — multiple stops, efficient turnarounds Remove and replace toilets, sinks, and faucets in residential settings, including adjusting or extending toilet flange height as needed when new flooring changes the finished floor elevation Disconnect and reconnect gas ranges in compliance with applicable codes and manufacturer requirements Handle plumbing connections for washer/dryer installations and refrigerator water lines Evaluate existing plumbing conditions while on the job — identify issues like leaking shutoff valves, failing supply lines, or compromised drain connections, and either address them on the spot or schedule a follow-up; these findings are communicated to the client as additional recommendations, not surprises Pull permits on an as-needed basis for applicable work and ensure all jobs meet WA state and local codes (including Seattle-specific amendments) Coordinate job scheduling with the office team each morning and communicate job status throughout the day Provide basic quotes and scope assessments for upcoming plumbing work Outfit and organize your service van during the initial onboarding period, within a company-provided budget Maintain the company vehicle, tools, and supply inventory on an ongoing basis
What We're Looking For Required:
Active Washington State Journey Level Plumber Certificate (PL01) Demonstrated experience with residential fixture R/R work Clean driving record — you'll be behind the wheel a significant portion of every day Comfortable managing a multi-stop daily route independently Flexible and adaptable — schedules shift, priorities change, and a make-it-happen attitude goes a long way here Strong communication — you'll interact directly with homeowners at every job A trained eye for identifying related plumbing issues while on a job and the ability to explain findings and options to a homeowner clearly and honestlyPreferred:
Seattle Gas Piping Mechanic License (or willingness to obtain) Experience pulling permits and working with local inspectors Familiarity with the 2021 Uniform Plumbing Code (WA state amendments) Prior experience in a service/repair role (vs. new construction)What We Offer Compensation:
$75,000-$85,000/year, depending on experience (~$36.06-$40.87/hr) Company vehicle (take-home): A fully equipped service van is yours to use — set it up to work the way you do, and drive it home at the end of the day. The vehicle is for Haight business only and may not be used for outside or personal work of any kind.Van buildout:
We provide a budget to stock your van with the tools and supplies you need to hit the ground running — with input from you on how it's set up Health insurance: Medical coverage for you (family plans available) PTO & paid holidays: Paid time off and holidays 401(k): Retirement plan with company participation License & CE paid: We cover your WA plumber license renewal fees and all required continuing education hours — on the clock Schedule & Location Full-time, Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturday work as business needs require — compensated at overtime or with equivalent time off during the same week Service area spans the Puget Sound region — you'll cover a meaningful amount of ground, and windshield time is part of the job Brief morning check-in at the office; the rest of your day is in the field and on the road No overnights, no out-of-state travel Haight Carpet & Interiors is an equal opportunity employer.Pay:
