Immediately Job Description (K-12) Student Support Coach Position Summary The District Student Support Coach is a district-level leadership position responsible for developing, aligning, and supporting systems that address student behavior, social-emotional learning (SEL), and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) across secondary schools. This role is centered on improving student outcomes by ensuring every student has access to consistent, high-quality behavioral and social-emotional supports across schools, while using data to respond to student needs and strengthen staff and leadership capacity. The position is not assigned to a single building, but instead works across schools to strengthen systems, reduce behavioral disruptions, increase instructional time, and enhance overall school culture. Core Responsibilities District Systems Leadership Lead the development, alignment, and continuous improvement of MTSS practices across schools Establish consistent Tier 1 and Tier 2 behavior and SEL frameworks district-wide Streamline MTSS processes, documentation, and intervention systems Collaborate with district leadership to ensure coherence in student support practices Capacity Building & Coaching Coach building administrators and teacher leaders on behavior systems and MTSS implementation Support schools in strengthening Tier 1 universal expectations and Tier 2 interventions Model and support effective classroom behavior strategies when needed to build staff capacity Develop internal leadership within buildings to sustain systems over time Professional Learning Design and deliver district-wide professional development on: De-escalation and behavior response strategies Social-emotional learning integration Effective classroom management and engagement Provide follow-up coaching and implementation support to ensure fidelity Data & Continuous Improvement Monitor and analyze district-wide data (behavior referrals, attendance, climate surveys) Identify trends and gaps across schools and student groups Support data-based decision-making at both district and building levels Provide regular updates and recommendations to district leadership Student Support Systems Collaborate with building teams to ensure effective support for high-needs students Support the coordination and effectiveness of Tier 2 interventions across schools Align efforts with counselors, at-risk coordinators, and administrative teams Participate in and support Student Assistance Team (SAT) structures as needed Primary Outcomes Increased instructional time through reduced behavioral disruptions Improved student attendance across schools Consistent and positive school culture across buildings Strong, sustainable Tier 1 and Tier 2 systems Increased staff capacity to effectively support student behavior and SEL needs Qualifications Master's degree in education, counseling, leadership, or related field preferred but not required Expertise in behavior, SEL, or MTSS Demonstrated leadership experience (instructional coaching, MTSS leadership, or administration) Strong knowledge of
PBIS, MTSS
frameworks, and trauma-informed practices Key Competencies Systems thinking Strong facilitation and adult coaching skills Data analysis and problem-solving Ability to lead change and build alignment across teams
