Job Description
Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Kennel Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care in a dynamic environment. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and comfortable kennels for a variety of animals, ensuring their well-being through attentive husbandry and handling. Your energetic approach and compassionate attitude will help create a positive experience for both pets and their owners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in animal care while supporting the health and happiness of our furry friends. Responsibilities Clean, disinfect, and organize kennels, cages, and play areas to uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety. Handle animals gently and confidently, including dogs, cats, and other small animals, utilizing proper handling techniques. Monitor animals' behavior and health status, noting any changes or concerns to report to staff promptly. Maintain accurate records of animal intake, discharge, medications administered, and treatment notes in compliance with kennel protocols. Perform front desk tasks with pet check-ins and check-outs, providing excellent customer service to pet owners. Qualifications Previous kennel experience or animal husbandry background preferred; enthusiasm for animal care is essential. Experience with kennel operations including medication administration, aseptic technique, and laboratory work is a plus. Strong animal handling skills across various species with an understanding of pet care best practices. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting animals or equipment regularly throughout the day. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and interact positively with pet owners.
