Job Description
The Gateway Regional School District is seeking a Kindergarten Teacher at Chester Elementary School. Nestled in a beautiful rural setting along the Westfield River in Chester, our school offers a unique opportunity to teach in a close-knit, supportive community. Chester Elementary is a small school where relationships matter, class sizes are manageable, and staff work closely together to support one another and their students. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of early literacy and numeracy development, effective classroom management, and the ability to create a positive, engaging learning environment for young learners. Our team is made up of dedicated professionals who are committed to meeting the needs of all students and fostering a supportive, inclusive school community. We work hard, reflect on our practice, and continually seek to improve outcomes for every child.
Responsibilities include: Plans and delivers standards-based instruction aligned with district curriculum in literacy, mathematics, and social-emotional learningCreates a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports all learnersWorks collaboratively with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff to meet student needsCommunicates effectively with families regarding student progress and classroom activitiesSupports the development of foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematicsIntegrates play-based and hands-on learning opportunities appropriate for early childhood developmentMaintains accurate records of student performance and progressPerforms other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal

Qualifications:
Valid Massachusetts Early Childhood (PreK2) Licensure requiredKnowledge of early literacy instruction (CKLA experience preferred)Experience with differentiated instruction and meeting diverse learning needsStrong communication and collaboration skillsCommitment to fostering a positive school cultureSalary range: $52,803- 91,482, dependent upon education and experience.
