Job Description
Gateway Regional School DistrictChester Elementary SchoolBegins August 25, 2026Chester Elementary School is seeking a full-time Reading Interventionist for the 2026-2027 School year.
Meet all state and federal guidelines in order to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
Hold an unwavering belief that every student can grow and succeed.
Provide explicit, direct instruction using evidence-based practices to students with identified reading needs.
Learn and implement programs such as S.P.I.R.E., Reading Mastery, Corrective Reading and Heggerty, with support from the building principal.
Utilize assessment data to monitor student progress and make informed instructional decisions.
Create a classroom environment of growth mindset, persistence, and enthusiasm for meeting goals and continuous self-improvement.
Maintain progress monitoring records for students identified as at risk for reading failure.
Administer progress monitoring measures on a monthly basis to identified students.
Use diagnostic data to pinpoint students in need of additional screening and support to target deficits.
Participate in MTSS meetings, as needed.
Assist in the administration of all benchmark assessments.
Work collaboratively with classroom teachers.
Participate in special education meetings, team meetings or parent conferences, as requested.
Provide building level training/professional development and classroom support in tier 1 and 2 instructional practices in the area of reading intervention, core ELA programming, and varied assessment models (such as formative assessments).Maintain ongoing communication with parents and colleagues.
Other duties as requested by the Principal. Salary range is $52,803-$91,482, dependent upon education and experience.
Qualified Candidates Must:
Hold a Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institutionHold a valid Massachusetts Teaching License as a Reading Specialist and/or in the area of Moderate Disabilities or Special Needs. Hold a valid Massachusetts SEI Endorsement OR Grade-level appropriate ESL License.Meet all state and federal guidelines in order to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
