This pivotal role combines culinary expertise with strong management skills to ensure exceptional food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. As a Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards in food preparation, inventory control, staff training, and overall kitchen efficiency. Your leadership will drive a positive work environment that fosters teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality. Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices. Supervise kitchen staff by providing training on food safety, proper handling techniques, and culinary procedures; foster a culture of excellence and teamwork. Implement and maintain health and safety standards in compliance with local regulations; conduct regular inspections to uphold cleanliness and sanitation. Coordinate shift schedules, manage labor costs, and optimize workflow to ensure smooth service during busy hours. Lead staff hiring processes including interviewing candidates, onboarding new team members, and supporting their ongoing development through coaching and training. Qualifications Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a fast-paced restaurant setting. Strong knowledge of POS systems. Demonstrated supervisory experience with a focus on staff training, team management, and leadership in hospitality or food service industries. Familiarity with inventory control techniques, food safety standards, and budgeting principles relevant to restaurant operations. Prior experience in casual dining or fine dining environments is highly desirable; banquet or catering experience is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a positive work environment. Knowledge of health regulations related to food handling and safety; certification in food safety preferred.
