South West Shearing Ltd Candidates are to adhere to Calm Sheep and Animal Welfare at all times. DO NOT apply for this role if you do not meet the criteria. Experience is required. The job titles are based in Lawrence, Otago. Wool handlers will receive $30-45 per hour, accordingly based on skill level. A wool handlers key tasks and responsibilities include preparing the wool clip by collecting & sorting the wool as its shorn from the sheep, keeping the board clean and working in a team environment. There is no qualification needed but 1 year experience is required for a wool handler. Wool Pressers will receive $40-48 per hour accordingly based on their skill level. Bales must be clearly marked and be of suitable weight and standard. No bale is to exceed 200kg. Pressers may be required to work overtime and after hours. There is no qualification needed but 1 year experience is required. For Shearers - Shearers must be able to shear 220 ewes at minimum per 8 hr day. Every Shearer shall diligently perform his/her work and properly conduct themselves on an employer contractor's property or a client of the employer contractor. Employee shall continue to do so during regular shearing hours & after hours whilst on worksite. Shearers must have 3 years experience. Great Accomodation available with free wifi.
