Title:
Middle School Assistant Athletic Director Reports to: Athletic Director
Job Objective:
The Assistant Athletic Director supports the overall management, coordination, and development of Silver Consolidated School's athletic programs. This role works closely with the Athletic Director to ensure compliance, enhance student-athlete experiences, and oversee daily operations across teams, facilities, and staff.
Qualifications:
A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment. Valid active New Mexico Coaching license or ability to obtain Comprehensive knowledge of interscholastic athletic program regulations. University level degree preferred but not required Previous experience in coaching, or related roles preferred but not required Athletic administration preferred but not required Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
Essential Functions:

Assists with administration of the district's interscholastic athletic program. Articulates a clear philosophy and shared vision of learning. Ensures that all athletes receive appropriate instruction, support, and opportunities to participate. Assists with ensuring community use of athletic facilities. Participates as an active member of the management team. Upholds board policies and follows administrative guidelines/procedures. Promotes a professional image of the school district. Maintains open and effective communications. Promotes the district's mission, philosophy, and vision. Serves as an information resource. Keeps stakeholders informed about emerging issues. Keeps current with technology and other workplace innovations that support job functions. Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies. Stays current with knowledge of athletic compliance rules and regulations Helps develop and implement the district's continuous improvement plan. Identifies and develops partnerships that enhance district services. Assist in the board-approved budget for assigned areas of responsibility. Oversees equipment inventory and maintenance for assigned areas to include but limited to uniforms, protective equipment, and other athletic gear for practices/training/games. Ensures the equitable apportionment of program resources. Participates in strategic planning activities to ensure that adequate financial resources and facilities are provided to achieve short/long-range objectives. Oversees an ongoing maintenance program to protect and preserve program resources (e.g., buildings, grounds, equipment, etc.) for assigned areas. Encourages program innovations. Pursues fund raising opportunities for assigned areas. Assists with Title IX reporting requirements. Represents the district at athletic league meetings as directed. Respects personal privacy. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information. Reports suspected child abuse and/or neglect to civil authorities as required by law. Encourages parent organizations and supports school-sponsored activities. Pursues growth opportunities that enhance professional performance and advance district goals. Strives to develop rapport and serves as a positive role model for others. Maintains a professional appearance. Wears work attire appropriate for the position. Flexible hours including weekends and evenings. Travel may be required for games and events. Performs other specific job-related duties as directed. Conditions:
Balancing, bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and standing. Exposure to adverse weather conditions and temperature extremes. Exposure to blood-borne pathogens and communicable diseases. Assists site administrators with interactions with aggressive, disruptive, and/or unruly individuals. Operating and/or riding in a vehicle. Physical exertion. Lifting, carrying, and moving work-related supplies/equipment. Traveling to meetings and work assignments.
